Imperative Mood

The root of a verb is Imperative Mood in Turkish as in English. Some Examples;

  • yap (do / make)
  • aç (open)
  • uyu (sleep)
  • bak (look)
  • gör (see)
  • git (go)
  • gel (come)
  • ye (eat)
  • iç (drink)
  • de (say)

Negative suffix is -ma/-me;

  • yapma (don't do)
  • açma (don't open)
  • uyuma (don't sleep)
  • bakma (don't look)
  • görme (don't see)
  • gitme (don't go)
  • gelme (don't come)
  • yeme (don't eat)
  • içme (don't drink)
  • deme (don't say)
