Var / Yok

Var means "there is" and Yok means "there is no";

• kedi var (there is a cat)
• kedi yok (there is no cat)

We use var/yok for the verb "have"" too;

• benim kedim var (I have a cat)
• benim kedim yok (I don't have a at)
